The membership requirements for the American Legion Riders are very straightforward. To become a member, you must…
- be a current member in good standing of the American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary or Sons of the American Legion.
- be properly licensed and insured per state laws.
- obey motor vehicle laws in the state in which you are operating a motorcycle or riding as a passenger.
To remain in good standing with the Legion Riders:
- Members will conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
- No member will fight or argue in public with other members. There is a proper way to handle all situations.
- Members should not consume illegal substances while riding in the group as a member of the American Legion Riders.
- Members will not discredit the American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, SAL, or the American Legion Riders, in any manner.
- The constitution and bylaws of the American Legion National, Department, District, and Post supersede and are the governing by laws of the American Legion Riders.
